BACKUP
Norton Ghost is the best in this category since it combines functionality with ergonomics seamlessly. It is possible to create a backup file depending on the file type across various categories: multimedia files, e-mails and even favorites. Additional file types not on the pre-defined list need to be included manually by the user. The schedule function offers creation of an automatic file backup in certain cases, for instance, a driver installation. The only other scheduler which was just as good was True Image.

Perfect Image, with a special data backup feature called AutoSave, is the only candidate that provides a real time backup, since AutoSave saves files constantly, as soon as they're changed or newly created. In order to ensure that this doesn't get out of hand, users can set a size limit, of say, 10MB. This automatic file backup includes changes to most system files, Word documents and PDFs while multimedia files needs to be added manually. Perfect Image's CPU usage during backup was low, with a maximum load of 10 percent.
