Spyware can be more damaging and threatening than a virus attack. The six menu options in the main Ghostsurf screen indicate the areas of protection of the software.The Privacy Control Centre provides anonymous and secure access to the internet, so that your IP address is not revealed.

Spycatcher is a separate program within the suite. It can conduct scans to quarantine everything from cookies to full-blown spyware.You can then choose whether to delete the files. Spycatcher updates itself with details of new spyware, in the same way as an antI-vInIs program, and a year's subscription is included in the package.

Next on the menu is the Personal Data Vault.You can put any files or details into secure areas ofthe computer's hard disk and the data will be encrypted.Adarmor prevents pop¬up adverts as you're browsing the Web.Trackscieaner removes the history of what has been done on the computer and Privacy Auditor monitors data transferred between the PC and your home network.This is a comprehensive suite but the lack of anti-virus protection means it's no one-stop shop.
