VUE stands for Visual Understanding Environment. The application is an open source freeware made available by the Tufts University. The main emphasis of the VUE project is creating tools for effective and synergetic learning, training and presentations. Just like FreeMind, the application has been developed in Java and is cross platform. The latest version available is version 2.2.8. It supports many data interchange formats by using the Resource Description Framework (RDF). You can create interactive videos and presentations using this tool.



PROS:
Images can be added to nodes to make the mind map very direct and self explanatory.

You can convert the mind map into a video or presentation, ensuring a higher degree of interest and interactivity.

CONS:
The application requires the Java Runtime Environment to work. Since the application itself is heavy, it tends to make your system slow.

Adding interactivity to your mind maps cim be tedious and requires you to spend a considerable period of time to understand it.
