We all know how important it is to defragment the hard drive on a regular basis. Not doing so will not only result in slow boot time but also drastically reduces the response time of other applications. Third party applications are best suited for defragmenting such as JetDrive 2009, which does a better job than the default Windows Defragmenter.
The start center gives you access to defragment your drive, memory and registry. A solid feature is the registry defragmenter, which most other applications miss out on, but not the most important application.
You also have access to a feature known as 'PreciseDefrag' that allows you to defragment multiple files in one go rather than defragging the whole drive.
Based on the test, JetDrive works ten times faster and gives an acceptable performance boost over Windows defragmenter. However, if you defragment your hard disk on a regular basis you wouldn't quite notice this difference. Although the red-write benchmarks had slightly better results during the test, the increase in speed wasn't quite obvious. It benchmarks applications and measures the startup times of various other programs. The application is also a resource hog, consuming a whopping 160 MB of memory. Also, the developers could have done away the memory defragmenting option as it simply does not boost the speed of the as In any way.
