If you have a separate image editing program, you can determine the amount of extra information that should be saved in a JPG file. However, it is often a rather tedious job to change or delete this data. You can use it to quickly delete personal data from image files.
Unpack the ZIP archive and run the 'setup.exe' file. After the program starts, open the configuration with 'File I Options'. In the 'General' tab, you can activate the 'Clear read-only bit' option to remove write protection of files, if any. Change the setting to 'Select files' in the 'File Selection' tab, so that you can select the files separately later. The options for clearing are available in the 'JPEG' tab. With the default settings, the tool also deletes ICC color profiles and other extra data of programs such as Photoshop. Confirm the settings with 'OK'. Now select the relevant image files in the structure that is similar to Explorer and start clearing these by clicking 'Start'. The side effect is that the file size also decreases slightly.
Attention: Make sure that you work with copies of your image files, since the tool directly overwrites them and this deletes the data permanently. You should not delete the extra information if you want to process the files further or transfer them back to the camera.
