Often we need to move from a browser that we are currently using to a new one. For instance, many users have moved on from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox. A major problem occurs when you need to access all the sites that you had bookmarked in your previous browser.
However, there's a very simple technique to port these bookmarks from one Internet Explorer to Firefox and back. This is achieved using the 'Import' and 'Export' feature available.
Follow these steps to transfer your Mozilla Firefox bookmarks to Internet Explorer:
Start Mozilla Firefox.
Click 'Bookmarks | Organize Bookmarks'.
Click 'File I Export' from the 'Bookmarks Manager' window. Give a name to the file and click 'Save'.
Start 'Internet Explorer'. Click 'File | Import and Export'. Click 'Next' in the wizard that opens. Click 'Import Favorites' on the list box in the left pane and click 'Next'. Select the location of the file that you had saved. Click 'Next'. Select the position in the tree where you would like to save these bookmarks before clicking 'Next'. Click 'Finish'. To transfer bookmarks from Internet Explorer to Firefox.
Click 'File | Import and Export' and select 'Export Favorites' from the listbox.
Click 'Bookmarks | Organize Bookmarks'.
From the 'Bookmarks Manager' select 'File | Import' and select the bookmarks file that you had exported earlier.
