STEP 1

GLOW TEXT EFFECT
1.Open a new document.
Set the dimension and resolution as required.

2.For the base background, apply a linear gradient at the top as shown.

3.Make a new layer on top of the background layer and apply a rainbow linear gradient of your choice. Apply the gradient from top to bottom with 25% fill and change the blending mode to 'Color'.

4.Make another gradient adjustment layer above the previous two. This one should have a radial gradient. Set the gradient as black and the transparency to 100%.

NOTE:

If you find a black patch at the center of the image, check the 'Reverse' box and set the layer opacity to 65%.

5.Select the 'Text' tool and type an appropriate letter.

6.Change the layer blending mode from 'normal' to 'screen'.

7.Now double-click the text layer to open the 'Layer Style' palette.

8.Click 'Outer glow' and select options as shown.

9.Add a stroke and apply settings as shown.

NOTE:

Select the 'Preview' check box to view the layer style before applying.

10.You will now see a faint image of the letter.

11.Duplicate the letter several times. In this example, each letter has been duplicated 8 times.

12.Now select all duplicate text layers and press Ctrl + G to create a new group
set of all layers.

13.Duplicate the group and place it where you want your second letter to be.

14.Create duplicates of the group set for the remaining letters.

15.Replace the letter in each layer of the group with the next letter.

STEP 2

3D TEXT EFFECT

1.Open new document.
Choose dimensions and the resolution as required.

2.Press 'D' to reset the background and the foreground color as black and white.

3.Go to Filter|Render|Clouds.

4.Select the 'Text' tool and type 'FOG'. Position it towards the top.

5.Choose a text font as required.

6.Press Ctrl and click the text layer to load the selection. Go to 'Select|Feather' and set it to 4. Now hide your text layer.

7.Set your foreground color to white and background to light gray.

8.Create a new layer and then go to 'Filter I Render I Clouds'. Press Ctrl + D to deselect your text.

9.Right-click on a new layer and select 'Flatten Image' to merge all three layers.

10.Now go to Image|Image Rotation 190CW. This will Rotate your canvas by 90cw.

11.Go to 'Filter|Stylize|Wind'.

12.Click 'Wind' from the 'Method' section and 'From the right' from the 'Direction' section. Press 'Ctrl + F' several times to reapply the same effect.

13.Go to Image|Image Rotation|90CCW.

14.Go to 'Filter|Sharpen|Unsharp Mask'. Set values as follows; Amount: 500%, Radius: 2 and Threshold 0.

15.Go to Filter|Sharpen|Sharpen. Press 'Ctrl + F' twice to repeat the same effect twice.

16.Go to Image|Adjustment|Color Balance or press "Ctrl + B" to open color balance box and play with the color slider to get some nice color of your choice.

NOTE:

Your 3D text effect is now ready. In this case we used the color blue. With color balance, you can choose any color as required.
