Rename the dll file to newdev.dll.old and place the other dll file in the system32 folder and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't you can delete the new one and rename the other to what it was originally.

You will need administrator privileges to do this.

The .dll file needs to be registered.

Reboot your PC and (XP - click start > run) (Vista - click Start orb > All Programs > Accessories > Run) copy paste the bold text below in and hit enter:

    regsvr32 newdev.dll

hopefully you will receive a success message. You PC might need to be rebooted afterwards.

If that doesn't work try registering the .dll file in safe mode.

    Try
    1) system restore
    or
    2) Uninstall IE8 and try. You can install IE8 later

I have tried 1) and it works.
