If your document includes many fonts, paragraphs and style variations, you can use the powerful 'Find' feature that can help you find text appearing with those specific parameters. This can be useful if you need to normalize the document cautiously. To search for text with a specific font, carry out the following steps:
In the 'Home' tab, click the 'Find' option from the 'Find' drop-down list appearing under the 'Editing' group.
NOTE:
Go to the 'Edit I Find .. .' menu command to enable the 'Find' dialog box in Word 2003.
Click the 'More»' button before typing a search term in the 'Find' tab of the 'Find and Replace' dialog box.
Select 'Font .. .' from the drop-down menu.
Set the required attributes from the 'Find Font' dialog box that appears and click 'OK'.
NOTE:
If a particular check box has a square block instead of a selection mark, it denotes that the attribute is insignificant to the search criteria.
Once back to the 'Find and Replace' dialog box, click the 'Find' or 'Find Next' button to carry out the search.
To search for text with a specific Paragraph based attribute, carry out the following steps:
Press [Ctrl] + [F] to invoke the 'Find and Replace' dialog box.
Click the 'More»' button before typing a search term.
Click the 'No Formatting' button to clear the formatting set earlier.
Click on the 'Format' button.
Select 'Paragraph .. .' from the drop¬down menu.
Set required attributes from the 'Find Paragraph' dialog box that appears and click 'OK'.
Once back to the 'Find and Replace' dialog box, click the 'Find' or 'Find Next' button to carry out the search.
However, this feature is most useful and powerful for searching for defined styles in your document. To use this feature, carry out the following steps:
Press [Ctrl] + [F] to invoke the 'Find and Replace' dialog box.
Click the 'More»' button before typing a search term.
Click the 'No Formatting' button to clear the formatting set earlier.
Click on the 'Format' button.
Select 'Style .. .'.
Select a listed style from the 'Find Style' dialog box that appears.
Once back to the 'Find and Replace' dialog box, click the 'Find' or 'Find Next' button to carry out the search.
