In the early days of PC era, Norton came up with a system utility suite, named Norton Utilities, and at that time it was available for DOS. After few years, suddenly Norton stopped releasing the updated version of Norton Utilities and the 2009 version marks the re-birth of this popular PC utility suite. Norton Utilities 2009 is the 14th version in the line-up.

There are several freely and easily downloaded nifty utilities available, which can perform the same task, but, they also increase systems memory usage. So, if you are willing to spend a small amount of money, than you can avail a lot of features as well as use lower Ram capacity.

We tested the application on a PC running Windows XP Pro with SP2. We intentionally installed various messengers, tools and more from our bundled CD-Rom and deleted the folders directly without uninstalling them, therefore making sure that the registry files of those software and unwanted files were still on the system.
The application cleaned all the registry problems and removed redundant programs, however, this did not result in an impressive speed boost to our computing experience, also this version did not include a single-button solution for performing all tasks. We had to manually select each feature and run it. One good thing is that all features were grouped within a single interface.
