Default Opening old files Problem in Microsoft Excel

some years ago I created a spreadsheet to work out the miles per gallon for my car. Following a computer upgrade, I now have Microsoft Excel rather than Lotus 123, which I used to create the spreadsheet and it will not open the file. Is there any way to access the calculations again?

Microsoft Excel may not open Lotus 123 workbooks anymore but there are some programs that will. Open Office has a broad range of formats that it can use, including tbe one you used.
