A number of tools can be found on the Internet. But are they really safe to use? Or do you end up downloading harmful Trojans on your PC?

It is best if you first test the programs downloaded from the Internet in a safe sandbox environment. This need not be done on a separate computer - real or virtual. As a new function, version 2010 of Kaspersky Internet Security offers the option to run programs in a secured environment such that they do not cause any damage to the computer.
Right-click the program icon in the info area, start 'Kaspersky Internet Security' and select the 'Program Control' category. Two links to the Internet Explorer have already been provided there for the 'Safe Environment'. The first one accepts all the changes for the regular browser instance and the second one again rejects the changes that have already been made.
Click 'Add' and the 'Search' to install other programs. Navigate to the program file and click 'Open'. Kaspersky adopts the program icon in the selection area. Right-click it for setting other options and select the 'Oelete the data of the safe environment when closing' context command for instance so that all the changes that have been made are rejected again. You can thus quickly set a private mode for every browser, which does not save the course of the session and does not affect any other applications. You can identify this mode by the superimposed brush on the program icon. To simplify the call, you can create a link on the desktop using the 'Create Link' context command. In addition, you also have the option to specify this safe mode as standard for all the program starts in Windows using the 'Always start in safe environment' context command. You should not set it for Windows system programs or else an error-free operation is not ensured.
Use the 'Common folder' set up during the installation for the data transfer between the safe environment and the normal system; this folder is generally found in '%AllUsersProfile%\ ApplicationData\KasperskyLab\ SandboxShared'.
