Default Prolem while restarting my PC every time i have to press F1 key.

I scanned my computer using Kaspersky Antivirus 2008 and found a virus in the system memory. It was not disinfected Immediately, but instead, Kaspersky required the "Neutralize" option to be performed. And then it asked to restart the computer. I restarted my PC, scanned it with the antivirus but once again found the virus and had to use the neutralize option. After two days I received a message while booting my PC. It appears just after the screen showing the name of the motherboard and other hardware components appears. The screen displays 'Press DEL to run Setup, Press F8 for BBG POPUP, PC2-4300 Single Channel Mode, Checking NVRAM .... Initialising USB Controllers ... Done. 1016 MB OK' and so on. Finally at the end of the same page, the screen reads '3rd Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD, Backup and Replace. Press F1 to Resume'. Now every time I restart my PC, I have to press the F1 key. Please suggest a solution.

The problem you are facing is not the result of a virus. The BIOS is reporting that it has detected a fault or an arising fault in the hard drive. The S.M.A.R.T. feature of the BIOS helps detect signs of a failing or faulty hard drive and notifies the user about it. If you press 'F1', the system will work fine, but the notification states that the hard drive is at a stage of failing without further notice. I would recommend that you backup your data and replace the hard drive completely. If the warranty exists, opt for a replacement from your dealer or from the manufacturer. Keep your purchase bill handy.

A driver typically communicates with the device through the computer bus or communications subsystem to which the hardware is connected. When a calling program invokes a routine in the driver, the driver issues commands to the device.
