A new version of the Java EE-compatible application server, GlassFish is now available. Version 3 introduces features that increase the flexibility of the platform and enables companies to use the new lightweight Web Profile, in addition to the full enterprise platform, to help meet their business requirements.

The administration is extensible and enables extensions to be exposed through a Web console, CLl and RESTful API administration facilities. In addition, it supports a variety of GUI and CLl development tools including the NetBeans IDE, Eclipse, Intelli], Maven, Ant and others. GlassFish v3 runs a broad range ofjava and non Java technology-based languages, includingJRuby/ Rails, Jython/DJango, Scala/Lift, PHP, server-side JavaScript and Groovy/Grails.
