As the name suggests, the Kaspersky KryptoStorage allows you to create protected. folders and containers. While folders allow you to save unlimited number of files, containers are of user-specified size; the higher the specified value the greater will be the amount of data stored. The created container has a .kde extension and cannot be accessed unless it is mounted by the application. That said, files are encrypted using a 128-bit AES algorithm and cannot be deleted or corrupted by unauthorised individuals. Volume encryption allows you to encrypt partitions thereby making it inaccessible without the right password. Removable drives can also be protected, once secure the drive can only be accessed on a PC that has KryptoStorage. It is a fine encryption tool but falls short when it comes to locking user specific files and folders.
