Thread: SQL in a foreign domain

Hello, following situation We have two domains (AD) that have no trust relationship. In one domain, there is a SQL cluster and in the other domain is now a SharePoint install. This SP will use the SQL cluster in the other domain.


The problem is that SharePoint obviously cannot work with a SQL account and we therefore need to qualify an AD account in the SQL accordingly. In the SQL again I can but obviously no AD Konton add a foreign domain.


Since a trust is not in question and the server, we also can not merge into a domain that is for me the question whether it is possible but perhaps with a foreign AD account access to SQL.

Without you now to offer a solution: Your security concept provides that there shall be no trust between these two domains , You want to tinker but one way and bypass the security concept so far? Your domain trusts the other not, but the sharepoint in the other domain can access your SQL cluster?
