Thread: AVG with broadband

When my computer was connected to the internet with a dial-up connection, I downloaded all the updates for AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition on a public computer and then copied them to the computer. As I did not expect to get a faster internet connection, I selected the option 'Do not ask me again when opting to update from a file'. Now updating directly over the internet should be more convenient but I don't know how to change the option.

AVG works in the background so much that it is easy to forget that it has an easy-to-use interface. Right-click the AVG icon in the Notification Area. It is a square with quarters coloured yellow, black, red and green. Select the Launch A VG Free Control Center Left-click the text Update Manager in the main part of the windows and then on the Properties button. Click in the box labelled 'Do not ask for the update source' so that the tick disappears and then click on OK.

Right-click the Notification Icon again and select Check for updates Click in the box 'Do not ask for the update source next time' so that a tick appears and then tick the Internet button. AVG will check for updates from the internet in future.
