Time to rock 'n' roll
First, clean all the components. Use the hand blower to do this. Apply a fresh coat of thermal paste between the CPU and its heat sink. Finally, mount the motherboard to your new chassis and connect the data cables to their respective ports. Now you're ready to screw everything together.
NOTE
Some internal wires are needed for grounding certain components. Reattach any such wires that came off during the dismantling process.
The LCD attached onto the big metal spacers, and connect the screen's data and power cables to the headers on the motherboard once they are close enough. Secure the spacers in place, closing off your new panel PC's cabinet.
Connect a mouse and a keyboard to the machine. A wireless combo is the most convenient and stylish option. Plug in the power cable and you are all set to go.
TIP
With a little hard work and creativity, you could also mount the laptop's original built-in speakers, the touch pad, and the mouse buttons to the acrylic chassis!
TIP
You can upgrade the machine by throwing in a more powerful processor (if the original one isn't soldered directly onto the motherboard), more RAM, a higher capacity hard drive and even a better optical drive if your old laptop had only a CD-ROM or CD-RW drive. However, check whether the old motherboard's BIOS and the other legacy hardware supports the new additions you're planning on, before you spend money on them.
