Based on pricing and clock speed, the Phenom 9600 and 9700 are the real contenders to the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600. However, availability and compatibility with existing hardware will be an issue fQr the new Phenoms. Further, the Q6600 offers better performance than both the new AMD processors.
