I recently deleted my entire hard drive because of spyware ect. So it's basically a new computer. The speakers do not work at all. You can not change any settings at all and I hsve no idea as to what drive to download. I have a dell dimension 3000 with windows xp. This not a simple problem like make sure it's plugged in, it's something I need to download or something, but dell charges like 50 bucks for each question. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Write down the serial number of your computer and go to the Dell website. There is a support tab. You can put in the serial number and it will tell you what hardware is installed. Write down the name of the sound card. Then go to the downloads section and download the driver for the sound card in your desktop. Then double-click it and follow the prompts. I suspect that when you reinstalled it, the driver for the sound card wasn't in Windows and you will have to download it from Dell and install it.
