A friend of mine and I were debating, when does somebody require an i7?

It seems that mainly of the people that have an i7 and make use of it for gaming are just using it for arrogant rights as well as there are many reasons for supporting that, one of which is most games don't even completely utilize 4 cores yet...

Can I get an insight of when you guys believe somebody needs an i7?

If you require an i7 you'll know! Running out of CPU is a pretty tough thing to do these days and yes, I know there's big 3D rendering etc but again, if you're doing this for a livelihood (or hobby) then everybody you know will have or desire to have an i7.

Outside of gaming or business there's not that much necessity for a huge CPU. Most CPU bound tasks are done approximately directly.
