Thread: CD/DVD Drive not reading CD/DVD

I just received a new Wireless router; it works very well, and everything. However, It says in the manual and such I need to play the CD first, when I insert the CD, it will not autoplay, and won't even find the CD (It won't become visible on any menus).What can I do? Sorry if this is vague, I'm not great with computers.

Do the other disks work?

If so, you can either do what most of us do and use the web interface to set up your router, or you can go online and download a copy of the setup software from the manufacturer's site.

If it doesn't work, borrow a known good drive. If that doesn't work, you have a software problem. If the borrowed drive works, you need another drive. I personally like Samsung and LG.

I suggest you try to do the following things:

Check the status of you cd/dvd driver by reading other discs if your cd/dvd drive is working: you need to get the good installation media for your wireless router.

If your cd/dvd drive is not working: Try insert the cd into other computer or borrow/buy a working cd/dvd drive for running the cd.
