Thread: Why does the power supply affect sound quality?

I changed my previous 350 watt power provide with the latest one and had my video card up and working for an about two days with no difficulty. After agonizing over the cause for a week and trying many dissimilar tricks to find out the difficulty, including removing the vid card (didn't work), varying the sound cards pci slot (didn't work), reinstalling sound and vid card drivers, putting the card in another computer (worked fine), testing.

I got the idea of putting my old power supply in and when I twisted it back on, my sound feature was Perfect. I was downright confused. So my question to you forum guys is, what could the problem have been and how do I get my new power supply to work with my audio card?

Your latest PSU might have extra ripple. Is it an excellence unit?

I don't know what you mean by wave or an excellence unit. It is an ultra brand 750 watt that I got off tiger direct. I read the reviews personally and only one of the people had a difficulty with it and theirs had arrived broken down.

Ripple happens when a PSU doesn't sift AC well enough. If you're the only one having that matter, then RMA it.

I don't see anybody else on Google having alike difficulty so yes, I guess I’ll just RMA it.
