The Nano is the generation next CPU from the VIA. It is 2x quicker in integer performance and 4x quicker in floating-point in comparison of performance from its previous generation CPUs. VIA is the only company that makes x86 CPUs.
At present there’s only a single core version of the Nano, but multicore versions are expected soon.
VIA's CPUs will be having all the multimedia instructions up to SSSE3. Same sockets will be used just like the ones in the old CPUs. The Nano also supports the new C6 power-saving mode which is additional feature, and that means the caches are flushed, internal state saved, and core voltage is turned off.
