AOpen made to point to make sure that using an EX65 is a never before experience. Apart from the noticeable exception of a built-in DVI port for LCD screens and S-Video, the unit has everything a user wants for quick start, including audio, video, and other components. It also comes with a coaxial RCA port right next to the VGA port, and an S/PDIF IN port, the USB and FireWire components in between them. And a processor, RAM, hard drive, an optical port, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and within minutes, user will be able to install the OS.

For people requiring a DVI or S-Video port, or wishing to upgrade the video in this unit, there is space inside the system for 1 PCI card and 1 AGP card, inclusive of higher end video cards such as, ATI's 9800 or NVIDIA's 5950.

As mentioned earlier, the attractive appearance of this unit is very impressive. Same is t applicable with the XCube line, and it's one of the factors the company has decided to brand their units considering their appearances and destined uses. Such as the EX65 Cyber Shock, the other units the EZ65 Living Art, EY65 Metropolitan, and EA65 Home Digital Center – have been designed so as to look more like appliances than actual computers. The Cyber Shock is created to allow users to experience hyper-speed digital entertainment, great appearance, and stunning specs, the reason why it's been made as a mid-to-high range digital media center.

From the top are the 5.25” bay for the optical drive, the 3.5” bay for the floppy or optional second hard drive, the big power button, and the row of interface ports. And below that from left hand side to right hand side, we can see the S/PDIF Out port, speaker and microphone jack , 2 USB 2.0 ports, an IEEE 1394 port, and a 4-pin IEEE 1394 port.
