Buying a system and using it isn’t much of an issue for a lot of bare-bones and SFF kits. The EX65 is also same. Actually, the system is made with a lot of features to take care of the installation, system tidiness, and good airflow.
The Cube design team’s main concern was to make sure that working with any member of the XCube line is as easy to work on as the systems are eye-catching. They did a good job to achieve it and it can be seen by the improvements they made in the generic SFF design.
The system’s casing is made of a 1-piece aluminum cover, locked in the back by 3 thumbscrews. There are openings on both the sides, which eases airflow inside the system. The XCube design team set it up so that air would flow from an opening located next to the optical and hard drives, from the processor's heatsink, and out of the case.
After opening, the case is pretty much same as other Shuttle-based SFF designed systems. Here, cables are nicely tucked side by side with the case edges, held in place by a mesh cover and plastic holders. Actually, for keeping it clean, the design team added additional plastic holders hooked to the case.
