Few BIOS setup utilities have preset values for different speeds. Locate a setting labeled System Performance or something similar and check out its alternatives. The alternative often has Normal, Failsafe, Fast, Fastest, and Turbo. Try setting the value at its quickest possible setting, and then enter the OS to verify for steadiness.
