Default How to Get Better Gaming Frame Rates on a Laptop

Today’s laptops are very powerful. Especially the "desktop replacement" group of laptops has heavy video cards, impressive speakers, and powerful processors and memory capability. Not all laptops are manufactured equally, though, and the system may drag while playing the latest game. If knows the minimum system requirements and know that the laptop fulfills those requirement them, one can reconfigure accordingly.

    Instructions:

    Disable Software:

    • Run the anti-virus software's control center. Deactivate any recent, active scans or close the anti-virus software totally.

    • Go to "Task Manager". Do End Task to all the un-required programs that are running.

    • Hit the "Processes" tab. Choose any unwanted processes, and kill that Process.

    Free Hard Drive Space:

    • Uninstall any unwanted programs from the "Programs & Features" option in the Control Panel menu.

    • Remove all the unwanted files from the PC. Unwanted files may include old email attachments, web browser caches, temporary files, etc.

    • Run a scan for the HDD. Allow Windows to remove or clear any drives.

    Update Drivers and Game Version:

    • Activate the Internet connection. See Windows Update for any driver updates, especially for new video and sound card drivers.

    • See video and sound card producer’s websites for latest drivers.

    • Start the game. Go to menu, click "Check for Updates".

    • Allow the game to download any update if finds.

Laptops are more powerful than ever. The "desktop replacement" category of laptops in particular boasts hefty video cards, decent speakers, and powerful processors and memory capacity. Not all laptops are created equally, however, and your system may drag when playing the latest game. If you've checked the minimum system requirements and know that your laptop meets them, you can reconfigure your laptop in order to get better gaming frame rates.

I read on WinMatrix that you can't upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. So I'll recommend you to put the ISO on your Windows XP drive and then install Windows 7 on the second drive. That way you can create a dual-boot configuration and then you can boot to Windows 7 and Windows XP. I'm doing this too, and I'm writing this on my Windows 7 machine. Just don't forget to backup your files.
