Default Antec 380W is as much as necessary for an ATI 4650?

Hi friends, I wish to make an HTPC for my family unit (they offered me a funds and I do the grimy work...). I've buyed nearly all of the components accomplish something out.

But there is one thing I'm in doubt in relation to. I've chosen a casing which is the Antec NSK2480; it appears with an Antec 380W power supply unit. The query is will that PSU power an ATI 4650 (and the rest of the components) for HD playback on my TV or else is that (gfx power) overkill and I ought to just fix to a 785 chipset motherboard (AM3) with an integrated HD4200?

I buyed an Antec Neopwer 550 as well as it does very well with an 8800gtx so with you ea385 you will perform all right as well as enclose space to advance later on. PS the ea650 isn't that massive.

Sufficient power required for a HTPC.

My E6600 (not all the power proficient) + 8800GTX (similar here) machine runs on a 450 watt Smart Power (this trend only include a MAX of 32 amps on 12 vs. 27 on the EA380).

You must not have any troubles in any way. The ATI Radeon HD 4650 video card is an energy capable card. All through strain taxing which is much more power complicated than home theater make use of, a system with the 4650 pointed at an utmost power draw at the wall outlet (mains) at 185 watts. That's for the entire system.

Video card as well as power supply maker underestimates power supply requirements as they make out public persist on buying low budget power supplies of uncertain performance as well as price.

I'm not confident I would like to strive operating at 9800GTX, but I may believe some of the more power proficient cards.

The most excellent card I would try would be the type of newest ATI 4770-- it is reasonably low power user. Safer so far would be a 9800GT, a GT 240 or else a 9600GT. (9600 and 240 are like in power-9800 is improved) All would be highly developed than a 4670, but would charge further.

The latest GT 240s enclose a 300w power requirement, as well as the older 9800 plus 9600s only includes a 400w requirement, so I am definite an Antec part might handle them. Those requirements are made for low-priced PSUs.

It's attractive demanding, when maker declare that you need as a least as 400W.

Just ahead of interest, Invisik, how much superior can you go?
