Default How to Set Up an Internet Telephone System

Setting up Internet telephone system is very easy and can be done in minutes if having the correct tool and cables. After the system is set up and running, enjoy voice quality comparable to a wired system but at a lower cost. Experience even bigger savings on international calls. All of this is made possible because of the voice over Internet protocol. A better explanation of how it works is that analog voice is transformed to digital format and then transmitted in packets via Internet where it is reassembled on the receiver's side. The receiver can receive the call through any phone system.

    Connecting, testing and using

    • Connect broadband source to the broadband modem supplied by broadband supplier.

    • Connect the modem to the router supplied by supplier or bought individually.

    • Connect router with the PC.

    • Connect wireless phone system with router through the phone jack on router.

    • Start PC and ensure have an Internet connection. Presuming that already having
set up a phone number with a VoIP supplier like Cable Company or a dedicated VoIP supplier like Vonage, hit talk or dial on phone and check for a dial tone. If there is a dial tone, its enabled.

    • Many wireless phone systems come equipped with minimum 1 or 2 phones that kept in any room. If the base is connected to the router and has a dial tone, any phone that communicates with the wireless base will be able to make and receive calls. Can make only one call at a time.

    Hello Friends.....

Step 1: Make sure you are connected to the internet. It can be DSL or WiFi as long as you have an internet connection.

Step 2: Purchase a reliable router.

Step 3: Once you have set up the connection of router and computers and you have already configured the settings of your router, you can now connect your wireless phone system.

Step 4: Test the connection. Turn your modem, router and main computer on. Since you already have the Internet telephone system with you, it means you already have your own phone number.

Step 5: If there are a couple more receivers that came with the phone system, you can place them in any part of the house.

    Thanks

Step 2: Purchase a reliable router. You need this so you can connect the telephone system. This is also a nifty gadget to help you communicate with your other computers at home. As soon as you purchased a good one, connect the modem to the router and then connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the LAN outlet at the back of the router and connect one end at the back of the computer. Do this for every computer you want to connect with each other.

    Thanks

    Hi guys

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a general term for a family of transmission technologies for delivery of voice communications over IP networks such as the Internet or other packet-switched networks. Other terms frequently encountered and synonymous with VoIP are IP telephony, Internet telephony, voice over broadband (VoBB), broadband telephony, and broadband phone.
Internet telephony refers to communications services — voice, facsimile, and/or voice-messaging applications — that are transported via the Internet, rather than the public switched telephone network (PSTN). The basic steps involved in originating an Internet telephone call are conversion of the analog voice signal to digital format and compression/translation of the signal into Internet protocol (IP) packets for transmission over the Internet; the process is reversed at the receiving end.[1]
VoIP systems employ session control protocols to control the set-up and tear-down of calls as well as audio codecs which encode speech allowing transmission over an IP network as digital audio via an audio stream. Codec use is varied between different implementations of VoIP (and often a range of codecs are used); some implementations rely on narrowband and compressed speech, while others support high fidelity stereo codecs.

    Thanks for all
