Exactly a year ago, we tested two sets of memory modules - DDR1 and DDR2 - Chaintech production company. Today, we again go back to the company's products. First of all, we are interested in how the new modules can compete with the best overklokerskimi products.

The first is a set of modules conventional types, which are designed to work at a frequency of DDR2-800. The only interesting feature - this package in the form of blades: In general, nothing outstanding. But now look at the maximum possible stable frequency, which can operate these modules. To do this, we assemble the system on the motherboard reference (this Gigabyte P35-DQ6 chipset for Intel P35), and raise working voltage of 2.2 V. Vmem to note that since there is no memory chips on the radiator, then a further increase in tension rather dangerous (especially for the long work).

But it is in SPD-taymingah and now will determine the maximum at low taymingah (ie 4-4-4-12). The result is considerably lower - only 874 MHz (which, incidentally, and not surprisingly).
However, this is only an external similarity. Realization Chaintech cooling system much simpler and cheaper: on modules Corsair Dominator radiators were related to the PCB, which also took part in the Heat. Regarding modules Apogee GT, the radiator is composed of two parts: a small radiator on the one hand is connected with the massive radiator that is mounted on the other side of the module and supports up significantly. This radiator looks as a whole. Raskurochivat modules we not decided, therefore, the most vivid picture came out with this perspective:

No idea! Utility CPU-Z announced that the modules are designed to work at a frequency of 667 MHz. However, it is not important, but how these modules work in the show itself. Unfortunately, the memory of Apogee GT does not revealed itself: a stable frequency = 1140 MHz with taymingah SPD and the recommended voltage. By the way, a further increase to 2.45 V Vmem not improved results and led to a decline in stable frequency. Possibly, this shows a lack of good contact radiator with one or more memory chips.

It turns out that the external memory thing Apogee GT lost by the maximum frequency nekazistoy referring to the memory of Apogee DDR2-800! However, at low taymingah Apogee GT took revenge: a stable frequency = 950 MHz with taymingah 4-4-4-12.
So modules Apogee DDR-800 showed quite decent results, and may be considered as an alternative to many overklokerskim memory kit. But only on the maximum frequency! Typically, modules targeted to disperse are working very wide ranges of frequencies and timings. In other words, all previously tested by us overklokerskie modules can operate at frequencies exceeding 1000 MHz at low taymingah (4-4-4-12). Memory Apogee DDR-800 - is not able. But the price of these modules at 100-200 rubles. higher than the price of conventional gigabyte modules DDR2-800. Therefore, the ratio of price / quality "These modules are a good solution for" fiscal disperse. "

And on the retail price of Apogee GT modules, we do not yet have the information. But I think it would not lower prices modules Apogee DDR-800. And in this case, we will not recommend to the data acquisition modules. However, given the strange information SPD, dare suggest that we got either culling or engineering, preliminary sample. If this is confirmed, then we will definitely return to the testing of these modules.

On the other hand, memory modules Apogee GT entirely consistent with the stated characteristics, namely working in the frequency of 1100 MHz, with a voltage of 2.3 V. Therefore, it is quite possible that the modules are already a lot. But why buy these modules if there is a cheaper and faster Apogee DDR2-800?
