Default Changing my config ... but how?

    I currently own a Core 2 Duo at 2.2 GHz@3.2 2 GB of RAM G-Skill PC 800 4/4/4/12 and a Geforce 8800 GTX NVGA mounted on an i680.

I want to change the fewest possible components, so I thought buying a E8400 (my motherboard is not compatible with the Quad), 2 GB extra (or 4GB 1066 MHz, but is it worth the stroke?) and another graphics card. I do not know what to take on the latter? What do you advise?

    Thank you

Everything depends on your usage is already a very correct configuration.

Skip has 4GB of ram (still on the 800Mhz, 1066Mhz the will not bring you much for the investment it represents) and a 64bit OS could be quite.

If you promised your nephew to give what you have, it is up to you. A 8800 GTX is still very accurate today, by not including jai cons for your C2D it a 2.2 or 3.2 Ghz?

Changing a E6400 for a E8400 is not very sensible, rather take a Quad like the Q6600 which is not too expensive and provides interesting perf. Moreover it is cheaper than a E8400.

Your CM EVGA 680i supports Quad Core and Core 2 Extreme, so no worries.

Originally it runs at 2.2 I think I have risen to 3.2.
And as graphics card, what do you advise?

    Thank you

okay, you have a 3.2 Ghz OC.

I would not advise you to change your 8800 GTX for now, but if you intend to give it to your nephew, I would say it might be interesting to head for the ATI 5000 series, Manager DX11, but after it depends of your budget, your interest for the DX11 technology and your screen resolution.

E6400 at 3.2 GHz is the road!

I just take a good graphics card (assuming you're a good power supply) Gender ATI 5850.

Obviously you will be CPU limited, but it does not matter you shall turn all into the game (especially on a 24 inch, ca draws more on the graphics card) and in a year you can change your CM + CPU + RAM and your graphics card will always nickel.

So if you now take a graphics card in your CPU (type 4850) in a year, will change everything.

    I hope I was clear.
