Thread: Bios CPU microcode

If I replaced i7-920 microcode and higher model like 975. The bios would still see it as 920, but it would run 975 macrocodes. I have second bios chip for board so no worries about bricking chip since I can hot swap and re flash. Please help me to solve this problem.

You’re irritating to get an unlocked multiplier? Seems like it could harm your CPU.

No, it's not possible, unless you have the technical skills to design and build your own CPU. MMX has been a part of the Intel CPU instruction set for many years now, and is normally accessed through programming languages.

End-users have no real need to be concerned about stuff like this. So: WHY on earth are you asking a question like this???
