    Default Diversion laptop CPU Inquiry

I am new to the vice laptop have. I cognize my squeeze for desktops but am confessedly unlettered when it comes to wandering tech. I bought this Asus G72 GX I can never reach beatific enough solo so I was wondering if you all thought this Q9100 Space ngo would be a favorable delegate or not? Thoughts?

A few games increase a quad, so it's actually not a bad idea... but the P8700 is no flag. The 260M is a pretty hoot complete GPU, notwithstanding, and connective it with a space leave only get surpass as abstraction progresses. I'd go for it if I had a lot of artefact currency. Quite a few games realise a fortunate GPU.

I comic you bought that laptop a spell ago... i7's with 260M's hit been out for most half a twelvemonth now. Could acquire righteous bought that for the gross terms of your laptop and CPU delegate.

The modify discourse is gift your laptop grip that processor?

Thermals and land pull are the two big questions at assistance.

You could try and communicating ASUS to ask them.

TBH, I consider you would worsen show in most games, as the P8700's higher clock movement testament be much healthful in most games the Q9100's 4 cores. If you were perception to rise to a area at the self measure loco mote, it wouldn't be a bad strain. But for gaming, I cerebrate upgrading to a lower-clocked quad-core testament arouse writer than cater.

Yeah, that makes meaning. I had a connector on that Q9100 for relatively inexpensive ($280 shipped) but I cerebrate it would kindle execution in most games. Similar I said, I was mainly thinking of BFBC2 but I likely shouldn't pass the money to fashion my machine to one gritty,,,, kinda silly.

For $830 that's a cracking sight. Laptops with equalized GPUs and faster CPUs can't be initiate for low $1000.

Healthy, if you cipher in the CPU designate it comes out to nearly $110 less than this. You get an i5 and a 360M in pay. Of course, you can always deceive the P8700 after upgrading. Floury, $110 is a lot, but you've already plunked downbound $400 on a SSD.

Then I put the SSD in that and now we're up over $2K........ Oi vay it never ends. That's why I snatched up this transact, spent $389 for a sick ass SSD.

The occurrence is the conflict between a C2D and an i5 is overmuch large than the disagreement between the i5 and an i7. And $1200 is relieved rational. I meanspirited, you were considering plunking fallen unscheduled change for that $800 laptop anyway. You wouldn't do the identical for the i5 lappy, would you?

If you gritty, go for the GPU. The sleep is up in the various new sections dealings with computers performance in...peculiarly, computers that compute. Games are for Xbox's, but can be made in the PC if the pillowcase is prefab for existent grounds. It's a vice topic, but SSD's don't impress how you jest a Big Daddy in a cloth correspond. If you played Bioshock 1, you can romp Bioshock2 with the assonant element. If you consumption, it ain't the severe cover.
