GLACIALTECH HAS RECENTLY announced its official presence in India with the announcment of the availability of a range of accessories for Pc. Gacialtech has launched a wide range of CPU coolers. The best thing to mention of this product is very slow noise. The new Igloo 5750 Silent comes with a thermal heat pipes that run through the base of the heat sink (which is in direct contact to the CPU). Glacialtech Igloo 5750 Silent heat-sink is a quiet little cooler with double fans with a single power cord. This cooler is compatible with socket 775 Intel processors and the full range of AMD K8 CPUs (socket 754/939/940/ AM2/AM2+/F etc.).

Its two fans spin at a fixed 1400RPM, and there are no fan speed controller. The two fans sandwich a 31mm thick section of aluminum cooling fins. The fans are suspended over the base of the heat-sink by four copper heatpipes, so that exhaust airflow is directed downwards. Cooling is quite effective.

We tested the temperature difference by running a system for 5 hours with the regular heat-sink and with the new Igloo 5750. Installation has been made simple by providing it with a clip and mounting brackets for both Intel base and AMD based cpu. The mounting hardware for Intel processors are attached to the heatsink. For AMD processors, Glacialtech supply both socket 939 and socket AM2/+ mounting brackets. These replace the clips on the base of the heatsink, and attach to the motherboard using the existing AMD support plate. For this simple installation all you need is a star head (phillip) screwdriver.

When the test system was run for 5 hours on the regular heat-sink the temperature went up to 45degree, but with the setup the Igloo 5750 the CPU temperature drops to 28degree, which is almost half time better.

The latest CPU available now these days come with a properly designed heat-sink and fan, so you might not need it but, with those still having overheating problem this is the best solution available for you. If you have a small cabinet this Igloo would not fit. The over all performance and the design are captivating for enthusiast and garners.
