Default Does Three Terabyte SATA 2 HDD congenial on MSI KixN Neo CPU board

Does someone familiar whether the MSI KixN Neo v1.0 helps 3 TB HDD on SATA II or not? I do not familiar how to assure the compatibility and I did not acquire any source where I can assure. There is no data about this compatibility. However does SATA 2 is compatible with SATA 3?

Yeah, it is fact that these standards are backward compatible. You can utilize SATA 3 drive into a SATA 2 through the utilize of exact connector. But there the drawback is you will not acquire throughput which is meant for SATA 2. It is ever limited here and you will observe slowest bus velocity. The speed will be acknowledged through the CPU board controller.

If you are expecting forward to utilize the 3TB HDD just as an information drive and not the boot drive, then your os and CPU board drivers might be capable to support this. Do not worry about BIOS support. The BIOS support commonly required when you need to create it as boot drive. Just now I familiar about 2 ways where HDD producers circumvent the 2TiB limit.

The good characteristics of SATA 3 is, it is backward compatible with last SATA editions. You will acquire the function dissimilar and nothing else. If the CPU board just has SATA 2, then it will just support SATA 2 bandwidth still if you attach the SATA 3 compatible machine. You will see the function increment just with solid-state drive.

AS long as I can tell that there is no reason that the interface velocity bottlenecks the hard disk drive function. It is not significant in this case but you require to look for the other elements similar to inner transfer rate, head seek time, and rotation latency. The SATA III is most profitable with SSD's yet and other driver will not acquire entire the profit of this fresh standard due to few mechanical limitations of the HDD.
