Whenever you try to access the computer, it will automatically ask for username and password. If the user name and password do not match, you will be unable to access the data. So, it is essential to provide some password policy in order to secure the sensitive data. And should change the password at regular basis.

Adding User Accounts

If there are so many persons who want to access the same computer, then, in order to have their own privacy, you can add various users and assign them a username and password. So, they all can handle the computer independently without being interfered by other users.

Undertake the following steps to make a new User Account:

1. Click on the Start button. A push-up menu appears.

2. Inside the push-up menu, move the mouse-pointer over the Control Panel option and click the left mouse button. A window appears.

3. Double click on the User Accounts as shown in Fig.UMŽ1. A User Accounts window appears. Click on create a new account option.

4. A wizard is launched and the first window of wizard, Pick a task. appears. Click on create a New Account option as shown in (Observe that initially it is showing the two default users the Administrator and the Guest.)

5. Next, Name the new account window appears. Type your desired user name in the User Name field and then click on Next. For example, type test as user name. However, you may type your own desired user name.

6. After naming the user, Pick an account type window appears. Through this window you need to select the type of account for the new user. Either click on Computer Administrator or on Limited option and then click on Create Account button as shown in.

7. A new user is successfully created on computer and as a result, the very first screen, Pick a task, re-appears. Click on your new user -test.

8. A task window for the selected user appears. Click on Create Password option.

9. Now, Create a password for test's account appears. Type word virtual in the text box under the Type a new password: option. Type word virtual once again in text box under the Type a new password again to confirm: option. Next, type virtual lab exercise as the Password hint.

10. After fulfilling all requirements for creating the password, click on the Create Password button.

11. Task window for test user re-appears.
