Thread: Date and Time Command

The PC has an in-built clock and a calendar that is working even when you switch the machine off. For changing or checking the date, type:

C:\> date

The system will display the current date:

Current date is Tue 12-08-2004 Enter new date <mm-dd-yy):

To reset the date to 20th December 2005, type: 20-12-2005

However, if the date is correct and you do not want to change it, just press the Enter key.



To check the current time, type:

C:\> time

The computer will then display the time as:

Current time is 2:29:56.62p

To set the time, say, 5.30pm, type: 17: 30
