The CLS stands for "clear the screen". When we type a command erronously and press the enter key, the following dialog appears on the DOS screen:
If we continue working with DOS, the whole screen gets clogged with the commands. The CLS (or cls) is used to clear the screen. We can use the CLS command as follows and press the Enter key:
C:\WINDOWS>CLS
After the Enter h~y is pressed, the DOS screen gets cleared.
