The first time you launch Sync Back, a dialog box appears asking if you want to create a profile. A profile in SyncBack stores settings about the files and folders you would like to backup, synchronize or restore. Click the 'Yes' button and in the 'Profile Type' window that appears next, there are two options. The first option is 'Backup' for copying files to another directory, drive, FTP server and so on, while the second is 'Synchronization' for keeping the contents of two directories identical. Check the former and press the 'OK' button.
Now, enter the name you would like to call the profile, for instance, 'CHIP'. This name will be listed in the main application window, so choose it carefully. Clicking 'OK' will present the 'Profile Setup' window. This is where you will define your profile using a range of options.
