Sometimes you may either require to either increase or decrease the spacing between words in a sentence.
You could do this by making the point or text size of the spaces smaller or bigger than what is used for the text around it.
This, however, can be very time consuming and non effective if a justified alignment is used since Word automatically modifies the spaces according to the words in the line.
A better option to get this done is by using the "Font" dialog box of Word. Here is how you do it.
Select the line or lines of text of which you want to modify the spacing.
Use the key combination [Ctrl] + [OJ. or right click the text and select Font from the context menu.
In the Font dialog box click the "Character Spacing" tab.
Under the "Spacing" option, you can choose from "Normal", "Condense or "Expanded" depending on your needs.
In the "By" text box you can specify how much you want the spacing condensed or expanded.
Click "Ok" to apply these changes to your selected text.
This spacing will remain unchanged even if a justified alignment is later used.
