YOU MIGHT HAVE hundreds of movies in your home movie collection as a serious collector. But as your collection grows, it gets difficult to organize your collection and quickly find out whether you have a particular title. Physically keeping them all together in albums may not be enough, you might also need an indexed digital catalogue of your discs so that searching for the movie name or details is as easy as clicking the 'Find' button.
All My Movies (AMM) is a solution - a quick way to organize and track your movie collection. Thanks to online movie databases such as IMDB.com, you don't need to type in all the details anymore. Instead, you can simply enter the name or UPC code of your DVD. AMM will then retrieve all other details off the Internet. Browsing and searching your collection then becomes easy, fast and fun. When you enter a movie into the system, AMM automatically downloads the box cover, presenting your collection in the same way it looks on a shelf. If you happen to forget what the movie looks like, AMM offers a simyle way to show you. what is in the box.
You can insert a DVD into your DVD drive, and AMM will automatically capture frames from the movie and store them in a database for future reference. What if you remember that you had a particular DVD, but it is not on the shelf? Maybe a friend borrowed the disk from you, but do you remember who it was? AMM keeps track of your movies with a loan manager. It allows you to note and look up who borrowed a particular disk and remind you about movies that are due to be returned. You can look up who has borrowed a particular movie, when, and also a history of his/her previous disks borrowed. If you frequently lend movie disks, you'll value these tracking features.
We recommend that you don't use the default 'sample.amm' database file, because this file will be re-written if/when you re-install or update AMM. You must create your own database using the menu item "Database> New". The full version of this application is free for PC World readers and can be found on the DVD. This application's newer version (vS.1) is available to readers at 30 percent less than th'e official price, and can be claimed by going to this web address:
