Recently, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved a proposal to create information technol¬ogy investment'"'regions (ITIRs). With these regions, it aims to increase the growth of electronics hardware manu¬facturing units as well.
ITIRs will be full-fledged industrial cities. There could be integrated townships, SEZs or industrial parts and would also have residential area, social infrastructure and administrative services. Each ITIR is expected to be a specifically notified investment region with a minimum area of 40 sq.km planned for IT and electronics hardware manufacturing units.
