By defining a rule, Outlook 2007 automatically takes required action on a recieved or sent message that meets predefined:.conditions specified by you in the rule. A wide variety of rules and conditions can b.e specified using the 'Rules and Alerts Wizard'.

To define a rule, click a particular mail. From the "Tools" menu, select the "Rules and Alerts" option. "Rules Wizard" will appear. To move messages that arrive from a particular e-mail address to a specific folder, click "Move messages from s.omeone to a folder" and click "Next". By default, the "From people or distribution list" check box will be selected. Now click the "From people or distribution list" link from the "Edit the rule description" section.

Select an'appropriate contact. Click "OK" and then click the "specified" link. Select an appropriate folder and click "OK". Once done, click "Finish" and then "OK". Similarly you can modify a wide variety of rules by browsing through the options available in the "Rules and Alerts" dialog box.
