Using the To'Do bar
The latest feature of Outlook 2007 is the "To Do" bar that call be found at
the top-right corner of-your Outlook window. It comes loaded with several tools that can help you add tasks, schedule appointments and much more. Click the "To Do" bar to expand it. A mini calendar appears. To add a new task, simply type in a name for the task in the "Type a new task" box and press the "Enter" key. Your task will appear beneath the text box. Double-click the task to set additional properties.
In the resulting window, enter details such as the priority of the task as well as the start and due date. To set a reminder, select the "Reminder" check box and select an appropriate date and time from the respective drop-down lists. Once done, click the "Save and Close" button.
If you do not complete the assigned task at the given date, it will automatically schedule itself for the next day and will be displayed in the list until the task is completed. This is a long overdue feature. Moreover, you can also categorize your tasks by giving it different color codes as well as flag them to indicate their importance. To color code your task, simply right-click the "Quick Click" option and select an appropriate color. To indicate the importance of the task, right-click the flag and select an appropriate option from the context menu.
