A table of contents is ideally generated when your newsletter is complete and the required stories have been incorporated. Word 2007 enables you to create a TOC manually or use an auto generated one. To use an automated TOC and ensure that a specific topic appears in it, you will have to apply ~eading styles to the story headlines. To create a TOC, firstly 'select all the story headings and apply either one of the '"Heading'" or '"Title'" styles to the story titles. Then, to place it at a specific location, create a textbox suiting your newsletter's theme. Go to the '"References'" tab and click the '"Table of Contents'" option. Select a table style. You can click '"Update Table'" to update the table contents.
