In some cases you may need to-insert 'em spaces' o'f! cen spaces'. These
are special spaces that are used to add a space that are wider than the usual white space between words for typographical reasons.
There are many ways to add these spaces like using special characters, but this can get very tiresome if you need to add a lot of these extra wide spaces. Instead of inserting them once and later copy and pasting them into place here is an easy method to add these special spaces.
o Choose "Customize" from the "Tools" menu.
o Word displays a "Customize" dialog box.
o Select the "Commands" tab from the dialog box.
o In the "Categories" section, select "Insert".
o Scroll down the "Commands" section, and select "Insert Em Space".
o Now, drag the button from the "Customize" dialog box to any tool bar that is present in your main Word window.
o Next, click the "Insert En Space" button from the "Commands" section, and drag it to the toolbar on the main Word window.
o Click "Close" to shut the "Customize" dialog window.
Two new buttons will appear on the toolbar, one for inserting 'em spaces' and the other for 'en spaces'. To use these buttons, simply place the cursor between the words you want to add the extra space between and click the appropriate button,
NOTE: Using the tip mentioned above, these buttons will appear by default in the toolbar in all of your Word windows.
If you wish to use these special spaces only in the document you are currently working on you can add these buttons only in the current window,
To do this simply select the current documents name from the "Save in" dropdown menu in the "Customize" dialog box.
