Word keeps track of how many times a file has been opened and edited, This can come handy particularly when the Word document is located on a network, where many people can access it. You can find out when the file was last accessed and modified under the "Statistics" tab in the "Properties" dialog box,

Word keeps a track of the total time the file is opened. To insert the time the file is opened follow these simple steps:

o Position the cursor to iNhere you want to insert the edit time.

o Choose "Field" from the "Insert" menu ..

o The "Field" dialog box opens.

o From the "Categories:" dropdown menu, select "Date and Time",

o Select "Edit Time" from the "Field names:" section.

o A "Field properties" section appears in the dialog box.

o Select how you want the edit time to look from the "Format:" section.

o From the "Nu'meric format", select how you want the numbers to be displayed.

NOTE: You need to select an option from "Numeric format" only if you choose
a number format from the "Format" option.

o Click "OK" to add the edit time to your document.
