After the simpLe installation process it is time to move on to the main step of using the appLication - seLect¬ing the Location from which you want to eLiminate the dupLicates.
1. Once the application is open, click the "Run" button under the "DoubleKiller" tab.
2. You will be red i rected to the "Options" tab. Click "Yes" in the Confirmation Box that pops up.
3. Select the folder from which you want to eliminate the duplicates.
4. This will be added under the "Folders" directories.
5. Click the" + " or " - " buttons to add or remove more directories.
6. Certain file extensions can be explicitly eliminated from the search. These include important system file formats like "'.dll" and " . sys". Click the check box beside each of the file extension that you want to exclude.
7. To add more file extensions that you would vvant to shield from the search, type in the name of the extension in the prescribed .format [with the escape charactersl and click the" + " button.
8. A specified search criteria helps you delete duplicates using the "if" condition.
9. Click the various check boxes that you would like to add to the search criterion. Files with identical names, sizes and formats can be eliminated using these checks. Note: For more information on what the CRC32 checksums are all about.
10. To make sure that you will include only certain application extensions and filenames, enter the search fIlasks for each of these to the "limit scan to files matching these masks:" list.
11. To do so, enter the search mask in the provided text box and click "+".
12. Files can be exempted from the s'earch depending on their attributes. Click the appropriate check boxes to'exempt the particular files from the final search.
To exempt files of certain sizes from the search, click the "Files" check box. Once the drop down boxes are enabled, click on them and enter the value for file size. From the last drop down box select the unit.
