Most marketing executives and students already have a laptop as their second computer because of the mobility they need. But how do you transfer your data to and fro? You can use an external drive or a cross cable.
Here is a device that can help you solve your data transferring woes-the ATEN CS611 laptop KVM. The CS611 KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse switch) is used to control two computers from one of them, and also allow data to be transferred between the two. The CS611 is the size of a cigarette lighter. and has USB cables running out of either ends. Using it is a breeze and requires absolutely no technical knowledge.
Just plug the local connector into the desktop and the remote connector to the laptop via USB, and the device is detected as an optical drive-no drivers are required.
Once detected by the operating system, the autorun initializes software already present on it. The remote computer executes the remote software and minimizes, while the local computer initializes the local software and hunts for a host on its network.
Once the host is detected, the remote laptop's desktop can be viewed on the host Pc. You can take control of the laptop completely from the local computer itself. The built-in software used here is based on the standard VNC, which does pretty much the same thing-remote desktop management. The ability to transfer files between the computers is available through a button on the top left corner of the window.
